Michael Regalado

Founder & Managing Principal

Michael Regalado is a senior security and strategic risk executive with 17 years of experience across mining, exploration and projects, critical infrastructure, emergency response, remote operations and corporate security.

His career spans corporate and site-level leadership roles across Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, combining executive risk governance with first-hand experience in demanding operating environments.

He is an ASIS International Triple Crown holder — CPP, PSP and PCI — with additional professional designations including AMBCI, M.ISRM and NEBOSH.

At AEGIS, Michael leads strategic risk, security, resilience and complex-environment engagements personally, from initial scoping through executive presentation and implementation.

Managing Partner

Álvaro Casani is Managing Partner of AEGIS Risk Solutions and a specialist in asset protection and in risk analysis and assessment, with experience across demanding sectors including power generation, mining and exploration.

His work centres on designing and implementing strategies to protect people, assets and critical infrastructure, and on risk prevention, operational continuity and response to incidents and emergencies.

Juan Carlos Medina

Senior Associate Consultant

Senior security consultant with more than 30 years in physical security, close protection and risk management. Bachelor of Naval Science from the Peruvian Naval Academy, with an MBA from Universidad del Pacífico and master’s degrees in Risk Management (Universidad Católica de Murcia) and Project Management (Universidad de Barcelona).

Has developed and implemented security, loss prevention and consulting projects in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile and Panama, for extractive companies — mining, oil, energy and gas distribution — banking and finance, communications and services. Holder of the ASIS International Triple Crown, ISO 31000 Senior Lead Risk Manager and ISO 22301 Business Continuity Lead Auditor (PECB), and a graduate in Senior Security Management (DSE) from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid.

Jim Salazar

Associate Consultant

Security consultant. Graduate in Military Science from the Peruvian Military Academy, with a degree in Business Administration and a master’s in Environment and Integrated Management Systems from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín.

More than 15 years in risk management, facility protection and executive protection, leading consulting, loss prevention and integrated security strategies in the extractive industry. Also certified as an ISO 31000 Risk Manager, HAZMAT specialist firefighter and NFPA 921 fire investigator.

Ricardo Freytas

Associate Consultant

Chartered industrial engineer with a Master's Degree in Project Management and 27 years leading asset protection and emergency response across EPCM projects, construction, and open-pit and underground mining. Senior officer of the Peruvian Volunteer Fire Brigade, with the rank of Commander.

Plans and directs protection of people, assets and facilities in mining under the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, and covers emergency and fire response including detection and alarm systems, rescue, medical, hazardous materials and aeronautical emergencies. ISO 45001:2018 auditor.
